The idea of practicing Witchcraft went hand in hand with loving Satan in the most kinky unorthodox ways, and sabbath is therefore the place to be. Sabbath ( as in Wicca terms ) is associated with feasts in deep dark forests ( the Brocken and the Black Forest are both known as good sabbath venues ) where Witches ( among other things ) dance with the Devil. BUT sabbath is also one of the eight annual festivals that divide the year. They coincide with commonly known events such as solstices and equinoxes. For farmers these are important days, they indicate when it is time to sow, harvest, and work the soil.
